The Duke of Cambridge

The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, is the eldest son of The Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales. He was born at 9.03pm on 21 June 1982, at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London. On 4 August 1982, Prince William Arthur Philip Louis was christened by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Robert Runcie, in the Music Room at Buckingham Palace. Since birth, he has been second in the line of succession to the British throne

William was educated at four schools in the United Kingdom and studied for a degree at the University of St Andrews. During a gap year, he spent time in Chile, Belize, and Africa. In December 2006, he completed 44 weeks of training as an officer cadet and was commissioned in the Blues and Royals regiment. In April 2008, William completed pilot training at Royal Air Force College Cranwell, then underwent helicopter flight training and became a full-time pilot with the RAF Search and Rescue Force in early 2009. His service with the British Armed Forces ended in September 2013. After leaving operational duties with the Armed Forces, The Duke retrained to become an Air Ambulance Pilot and worked for East Anglian Air Ambulance from March 2015 until July 2017.

Of his time working with EAAA, The Duke said: "It has been a huge privilege to fly with the East Anglian Air Ambulance. I have loved being part of a team of professional, talented people that save lives every day. My admiration for our country's medical and emergency services community could not be any stronger."

He met Catherine during their time at St Andrews University. They spent a long time as a couple before announcing their engagement on 16th November 2010. Prince William gave her as engagement ring, the ring which once belonged to his mother.
The wedding took place on 29th April 2011. It was held at Westminster Abbey and was attended by many public figures like members of other royalty families, celebs, and representatives of different charities.

They have three children; a son, George Alexander Louis, born on 22 July 2013, a daughter, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, born on 2 May 2015, and a son, Prince Louis Arthur Charles, born on 23 April 2018.
